Stained Glass and Glass Blowing

I arrived 14 years ago to the Haliburton/Minden area and I renovated a 150+ old house/studio.  I have been cottaging in Haliburton for about 13 years and fell in love with the forest and lakes which I enjoy canoeing and kayaking.  It’s the love of nature that inspires my art work.

How a little about the past 30 years. I graduated from St. Lawrence College in 1980 from a 3 year Fine Arts program with my major in photography I then spent another 2 years back and forth between O.C.A. in Toronto and travelling the West Coast of B.C. photographing the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island.

In 1983 I returned to Niagara Falls (where my family is from) and found a stained glass studio in which to study glass and glass blowing under glass artist Denis Lucan and Bob Petrie. They took me in and showed me they’re tricks to becoming a glass artist.  I was with them for 3 years until I found a perfect location in which to pursue my own glass art career.

I set up my studio in Niagara Falls (under the name of Glass Eagle Studios) along the beautiful Niagara Parkway.

For the past 30+ years living in my small but productive home/studio, I have learned a lot about the business and myself.  I have been teaching glass classes for the past 25 years and have been attending art and craft shows in and around Ontario for almost 30 years.

My work consists of Tiffany style lamps, large panels, (for home and business) windows, suncatchers, poured pewter and glass, glass and cement garden pieces with some work in glass blowing.

My work is being enjoyed all across the country and I continue to take on new commission work. I also supply a few retail outlets in Gravenhurst, Stratford, Niagara on the Lake, the butterfly conservatory in Niagara Falls and the new River Run Centre in Guelph.

Although I still dabble in glass blowing and photography, my main love is stained glass art.
